I also maintain (every month) complete and accurate accounting records...one spreadsheet per entity...so heirs will have no doubt regarding revenue receipts and expenses paid...or cost basis for capital gains.I also find it helpful to maintain all user IDs and passwords in a password manager.

Tim -Here in Central Florida in the Disney World area short term rentals are well entrenched, and I don't see that ever changing for a number of reasons - one being the counties where they are located are receiving tremendous tax revenues from them.I would suggest that you look here for a vacation rental.

Agreed on figuring all these things out - the challenge is that it'd be great to have all those questions answered before we start the project, but some (i.e. the cash/revenue projections) need to be on a project by project basis.
