My wife and I have achieved the goals that we wanted to accomplish in our first years of being together and we are faced with the reality that if we don't go take over my families' business, my parents will either sell the business which wouldn't leave them enough to retire on, or keep running the business and allow it to put them in an early grave.

A way to save more tax is through a self directed retirement plan. 

While it was a deeply rewarding career, I had to face the fact that I’m not 20-something anymore and I don’t want to be crippled with arthritis to the point of not being able to enjoy retirement down the road.Someone on a different networking site told me about Public Adjusting.

I also have some relatives in the rehab business  and even one very successful "house hacker" in the family who until BP I didn't even know that was a word (lol).I retired from the U.S. 

But, we have had enough of rehabbing and landlording for now, until we retire our day jobs.  

They do not cash flow like I would like but I am using 15 year not 30 year amortizations so I can have them about paid off when I retire. 

Our goal is to achieve early retirement through our rentals and other income.

Currently active duty military with plans on retirement/transition from service very soon.
