Some investors want to get paid back within 12 months (most hard money lenders), while some lenders (friends) may be OK with a longer multi year term.

For the past two years, I have been doing mid-term and short-term rentals for two of the bedrooms. 

Those of us with a long track record are completely unphased by the settlement and changes and will likely be charging more, not less.

I believe you're right too - someone from VRBO reached out to schedule a call not too long ago, but I haven't been successful with getting that set up.
