I have solid connections in electrical and plumbing, but looking for someone who has basic carpentry skills (install trim, take down walls and re-frame walls, etc), installs floors (hardwood and vinyl), minor painting, basic tile work, things like that.

2 of the 3 floors have low to no heat (boiler exchanges are in ceilings = costly repair).  

We have an empty rental house which needs new flooring.

I plan on renting the apt to offset the mortgage.The place needed a little work (fix up one room, new floors, putting in whole new kitchen), so I got an FHA 203k loan - streamlined version. 

For those first-time DIYers that did their own floors, was it as tough as you expected or did you mess your floors up?

Paint, floor covering, exterior door replacement, new roof.
