@Evan Pickvet-Hall Your agent might be referring to the fact that you might not be able to qualify for typical home mortgage programs as most lenders prefer SFRs to even 4 units (even though they are both classified as residential). 

Just chat up the neighbors and do the nod, nod, wink, wink sort of thing :)  where are you anyways?

P.O.S. inspections were developed, I would argue, because municipality leadership was unable to devise programs to HELP homeowners with their properties. 

Don't get the two programs backwards.
