I was considering buying a 2-3 bed 2 bath condo in my area for around $400K is the going rate at the moment with my fha loan option 1 or just put the 20% down to avoid the $170 buyer insurance for FHA loan.

I am assuming a 3 bed, 2 ba, no pool etc.I recently bought a home that looked like a cosmetic fixer and it has turned into a true money pit with all plumbing lines needing to be replaced, wiring brought up to code and even an new electrical panel due to arcing.

@Luke ReningerI was thinking on turning the garage into a 1 bed 1 bath room and rent it out, but that would add up at least another 10K if I do most of the work myself...Too much work for the equity gain I suppose then.
