We have had other candidates who say they are self employed but our process requires tax returns - although we have had a couple who could produce the appropriate pages, most of them go on to admit they don't report it and thus are unable to verify the income.

I was reading Amanda Han's Book on Tax Strategies, and was surprised to read (on p. 104) that "Fix-and-flip properties are not generally eligible for long-term capital gains tax rates, regardless of how long you own the property before selling it."

You should be able to go to the website for the county assessor's office, type in the property address and get tax information as well as the name of the owner.

Appraisals on commercial property cost between $2,500 and $3,000 so I do not want to spend that kind of money if the appraiser is going to check my tax return and see a huge list of expenses and vacancies because of the construction.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Ramsey

We have used various methods to save up for down-payment funds: we set aside pay raises instead of consuming them, re-enlistment bonus sums, tax-free income from deployments, an inheritance check, the tax-free savings account while deployed...And so forth.
