Through all the reading I've done and podcasts I've listened to (coupled with my current life/living situation), house hacking looks like the best approach to me.

Hi Nikhil, I'm not expert on this kind of market but wanted to flag how bad the situation has now become regarding tax and rental properties if you are subject to UK tax.

From a financial perspective, given your current situation and proposed idea, I think that you will have a hard time achieving your desired result.

Depending on your situation and the amount of profit you are dealing with, any of those strategies might be just fine, but if you plan to sell at any time, they'll get you with the taxes one way or another, unless you 1031 until you die. 

Also if you see any other potential options for my situation I would love to know.

Hey guys,I found a property with a special situation: it has two lots - one lower lot with a house and one upper lot that is empty.

I'm in a very similar situation and just started my Bigger Pockets membership.

I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m evicting 2 or 3 of the units.
