You sell the floors, buy other material to support this kind of flooring or put the floors in another house you own(which I assume he has already thought of given he's mentioned his portfolio).My point is to just buy another house just to fit floors you accidently bought is asinine.

I just got a quote for about $3500, labor and materials, to remove the old oil furnace and install the new gas furnace.Sounds like you already have the gas service, so that will cut out significant lead time.

If the insurance company is handling it, I would basically just treat it like it was my claim....i.e make sure the insurance company does a good job and doesn't cut corners..... proper materials and install, finish work is up to par etc.

.(*) Flooring -  $8400 - we didn't actually finalize anything I'm not sure what materials he was planning all over, but I think wood floors in the top 2 levels and engineered wood in the basement, tile in bathrooms and kitchen area (very small).

They are basically big metal plates that cover doors and windows and cannot be used in a house that is lived in.
