Sure, but it does leave you open to the criticisms you have heard.Essentially every poster in both threads has had the same impression so I think it is not realistic to call all our impressions "ridiculous".BTW, the previous post I mention is from last month and begins, by my count, with 3 self-congratulatory proclamations of success.

I have heard that they will count 75% of the rent toward the mortgage, but what if I am buying a pre-foreclosure or some other SFR that isn't currently rented?

I know this sounds like a big pain in the *** and for most people it is but the truth is if you have the tolerance for this you can make money, if you don't want to put in the extra effort and you count solely on people who know you are 2000 miles away, you are very likely to not get what you think you are paying for.You reap what you sew is the moral of the story.
