There are more and more investors/syndicators fighting over the same deals. 

I should be grandfathered in until I decide to sell the property, not when the lease expires.Should I try and fight this or is this a lost cause?

They forget that 40 years ago, their demographic was the newcomers to the areas they are fighting to stay in, and their demographic displaced that area's residents.

It's a balance between getting a project done, an appetite for fighting city inspectors, and pragmatic investments.

He was renting a house with a couple roommates the past couple of years and it was managed by Cedar Mills Property Mgmt -- I was at his house visiting for the weekend (I live out of town now) and a water line to the sprinkler system broke on a Saturday about 3-4pm -- we got the water shut off so it didnt flood the basement -- anyways - we left to go to a UFC fight and they had the water line repaired by the time we got back home. 

A good wholesaler provides you with off martlet properties with hopefully fewer people fighting over it compared to the mls.

Don't be afraid to fight.

These entities can be a bear to unwind and the time you have to do it is when you're fighting some other battle that triggered the structure's limitations. 

Oh, one of my personal favorites, the time I stumbled upon a **** Fighting operation in the basement of a unit, yup, that was an interesting inspection, lol.
