Could you drive Uber Lyft door dash....Lyft pays $2500 bonus after 60 rides in 60 days or something like that.   

Have a friend taking a job position in St Pete area.The other units would be STRClose enough for short bike ride to beach would be great but understand this will likely drive price way up.Close proximity to restaurants and shops.

Some other cities are a bit more flexible when it comes to STR's and are sub $20 Uber rides and within 15 minutes or so of downtown Palm Springs.

@Bruce Lynn I've spoken with my broker and he isn't offering any "free rides".  

If you are in a high risk area for hail, hurricanes, tornado, or flood, you could have much higher than expected premiums that could make the deal unprofitable.  

You may struggle to find a decent house under the FHA price cap, but if you can, it's an excellent opportunity to ride a wave of home appreciation and rental appreciation.

I'm not suggesting you be hasty, but history has proven that the only way to truly get ahead is to own real property and ride the appreciation and use it as a hedge against inflation. 

Buy it right and have a cushion to ride out the slow times. 

It's only about a 90-minute ride for me.
