STR, not AIRBnB.1) Make sure the municipality is STR friendly and looks to remain so.2) Find a year-round attractive location3) Do your own research on VRBO and AIR sites to see what the current STR owners are doing - how much are they making?

I just had a new 3 ton done at one of my homes and had the air handler moved into the attic and some ductwork done, and it cost me $6700 for everything.

We just listed our first Air BNB up north, at our lake home.

All 3 companies took air humidity readings and moisture readings of the wood joists and warned me about the long-term danger of my floor joists warping since they are made of composite wood.

I want to get involved in some sort of real estate whether buy and flip, rental, air bnb, or assignment.

Youtube is great, but nothing greater than walking neighborhoods and getting a feel for the air in the area.

Seemed like a great area and gave the feeling of being on the move upward.I wouldn't trust AirDna, but would go directly to the platforms themselves (VRBO/AIR) and see exactly what your potential competitors are getting in terms or occupancy and rates.....
