I am looking in the next 18 to 24 months to move my family to the DFW area for my job and I am looking to purchase our family home (with possible income potential) along with beginning my buy and hold career (preferably in multi-family).  

I'm considering changing careers and finding a job in real estate that helps me to learn the business faster so I can be more educated about making deals.

I'm a senior at Colonial Highschool and I was wondering if I needed to go to college or just go to a real estate school after highschool to start my career.

At this early point of my RE investing career, I gravitate towards what I know, and that's single family homes in the $120-150k renting for $1100-1300/mon.  

I'm currently in the education phase here and had an idea that I think is good, but not sure...Hypothetical situation: While in the early stages of my investing career, with little track record to approach private lenders with, having $150k to start with, could it be a good idea to find a $120k property, pay cash, spend $20k on rehab, and sell at $170 ARV as quickly as possible?...
