Thanks PNW, Mr Castillo.I guess I was trying to make the idea too general :oops: .More specifically, when I search the Wayne County Tax website using property ID numbers gained from Zillow, I sometimes come across properties whose status is "forfeited", and others whose status is "delinquent".

You could try to track down the new location of the owner, either by mailing a letter and writing "Return Address Requested" on the envelope, or by getting the current tax payer via the county websites, and then using one of the search sites such as www.zabasearch.com, www.skipease.com, www.whitepages.com.

And when they are going to do this the property usually does not make it to the tax sales as they "conficate" the property and sell it themselves for what is owed.I would think that they will just sit back, knowing that you can not sell that property or even get a loan against that property without satisfying their lien as it will be discovered in any title search that is done.
