That said, the presence of a bad credit score does indeed say something, so for that reason I understand why many landlords strictly use them to determine eligibility.I check for unpaid judgement's and evictions.

Talk to them and ask them to diagnose for free, but if it is a blockage due to other sections of pipe or improper waste in the drain, that is going to be on you.You may also want to call the city and check with them, especially if you had heavy rains before it happened.

https://statutes.capitol.texas...You could also gain partial legal interest in the property, bill the incarcerated and or other siblings for their share of the property expenses, obtain a judgement against any sibling who doesn't pay their share of the expenses, and use that judgement to foreclose their interest.

That was a negotiated surrender, and I was nice, heck I was down-right friendly as i laid out the options of work together or, don't, in which case they can expect eviction in conjunction with suite for judgement, possibly garnishments, possibly even seizing of assets, all kinds of ugly, but hey, it's their choice as they are steering the car, their choice if down the road or off a cliff.
