Granted, my search has been limited to the MLS and other online search tools.

The buyers entered the property (without permission) and made major modifications to the house(before closing) ie. taking down walls, doors, stealing tools from the garage.

If you take the self-management approach, there are definitely some tools that can help with managing things moving forward but my natural assumption is that no matter how easy the on-boarding is, tenants will probably still want some sort of hand-holding through that change management process. 

Would you recommend getting started with the tools on here?

The situation is slightly more complicated but manageable with the proper tools and resources. 

This calculator would be an excellent tool in learning to run these numbers.
