As long the job was done as agreed it is none of his business how much you made or how long it took you(he should be happy you were done ahead of schedule ). 

If we were to need hard money we would use them. 2 of our investors work closely with them and are happy. 

I wasn't happy when I find out I "made too much money" to deduct my student loan interest, so I went ahead and paid them off immediately.
