For context and without going into the details of my situation, they recommended setting up a revocable trust and then setting up a Wyoming LLC as a holding company, then setting up a New York LLC owned by the Wyoming LLC holding company to hold the property for the asset protection and anonymity.However like I said I am getting conflicting information/advice.

So, if the lien does not sell in Year 1, and you buy Year 1 and Year 2 liens in the Year 2 auction, then the 4 years starts on the date of the Year 2 auction.  

Or do you find a lender first, explain what you’re trying to do, and then start submitting offers?  

That's how I started - renting out a spare bedroom to a roommate and I still do that because once I learned I didn't have to pay my whole mortgage it was hard to imagine paying it all myself again, haha!

It’s seems easy to believe that you’ve considered everything, especially when trying to put the funds together for a big project and eager to get started.

My target purchase price is under $1.7M and prefer cosmetic fix to start with.

Then you can start digging into utilities/etc that might be large hidden costs many don't realize are needed.  

I have reached out to potential homeowners / management companies via Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Zillow, and HAR thus far.
