@Matt N. no, you cannot deduct the mileage from your personal residence to the place of business (office, property showing, etc).

@Matt Leonard Air BNB is something I have not thought about but my wife works from home and needs it quiet during the day, plus we have a couple of dogs so a longer term tenant would suit our lifestyle much better I think.
