It is more like, if you do NOT, you will definitely never succeed. 

My ultimate goal is to have a successful house flipping business and start investing in multi unit rentals.For those who are currently succeeding in the flipping business, how would to recommend my wife and I to grow our business to where we are not limited to one house at a time?

I am heavily leaning towards taking the job out in SD, I know that in order to succeed in my REI ventures(and many other aspects of life in general), I need to repair my credit and have a stable income.

I think you will succeed with the following: Hard work, willing to take risks, don’t follow the herd, use leverage carefully, and learn as much as possible esp. here on BP. 

I'm interested in finding and partnering with another investor who is further down the road than me and is willing to lend a hand to someone who is motivated to succeed, get deals done and make some money.

Do NOT assume that you can't make good returns in your local market because prices or higher or whatever reason ... there are a ton of ways to make a profit in real estate ... so many, in fact, that I believe there are skilled professional real estate investors doing well in each and every market around the world ... find one in your market, find a way to add value to their operations, and learn what they are doing to succeed. 

PS im not saying you wont eventually succeed but you are taking steps down the wrong path.PS ive never wholesaled a property.   

I'm inclined to agree with @Ron S.There's no guarantee the bank will succeed with its claim... after all, the title commitment and policy are usually generated from the same legal description attached to the mortgage, plus the bank's best witness is dead.So if you close now you'd be buying a property that has an attached garage and part of the basement encroaching on the neighbor's lot. 

I believe that there is a small number of people who succeed in difficult things who indeed hold the belief that, "Having a Plan B means you believe you're going to fail with Plan A."

While you may succeed at shoving something down somebody's throat people will not be all that motivated to recommend you and in the end that will be what builds up your legacy.
