It was prioritizing inbound calls over outbound calls so our VAs weren't able to get as many dials in per day.

An emergency is defined as something that requires immediate attention to protect your safety or to protect the property (fire, flood, or blood). 

However, the house needs significant work and for safety reasons, it is likely it will have to be vacant for 1-2 months as that happens.

Long story short, it was a pretty much a drug house, all tenants got vacated,  the city came in and issued multiple health and safety violations along with citing multiple unpermitted items in the house that needed to be fixed. 

In all our student rentals, and many of our other buildings, we have high-bandwidth connectivity into the building:  a small, but prioritized, portion is used for our monitoring, the reset is segregated into separate networks and provided "complementarily" to our tenants.

Otherwise, it's a nice, in-demand area.Some leases contain language around 'acts of third parties' which inform the tenant something to the effect of; the owner has acted in good faith to secure the property, however, it's not a guarantee of your safety from acts of third parties, and personal safety and security are tenant's responsibility, etc.  

It is like buying an insured bond where you pay for the safety in lower yield.

When am I going to get my own damned safety net?

I won't stay at a place unless I know the address beforehand, so I can assure safety and security for my family.
