They are very, very protected in Cape Coral as it's home to a lot of them.Cute little guys unless they take up residence on your property, then a PITA, lol. 

@Joshua LeeI suggest buying a single family home that you could rent out an ADU or rent out the rooms.

But it seems that property taxes will increase extraordinarily high next year and coupling that with expensive home owners insurance.

I am happy to connect; my value adds are mostly for distressed investing, flipping properties, real estate agent work on the aforementioned and building custom homes from ground up.

My first post on BP, I've been a lurker for a long time.I sold my e-commerce company last year and have been doing some real-estate investing, I've bought and fixed up several personal homes over the years and have always wanted to get into real-estate investing.I live in CA, and I bought my first investment property in Temple Texas at the beginning of the year. 

From a single family buying perspective, my only experience has been buying a new home 6 months ago, selling our current home, and talking with people I know.

Other than that, I want to stay out of their lives and let them enjoy the home they are paying for.

Would also love to hear if any tips from people who have done something similar in any area.

Credit requirements may be the same but the. income requirement is different.If you invest in single-family homes for rentals, once you have built up your portfolio and have your positive cash-flowing assets maybe a % of the portfolio can be set aside for below-market rents.My opinion- You have to make $ first so that you are in the position to give back.
