Whether it would be the better plan for them or not over the long term would be something to discuss.Since they are over age 59 1/2, they should be able to move any tax-deferred IRA or 401(k) type savings into such a plan via rollover, including from their current employer plan.

If I was your age making what I did then with todays rates I'd be very aggressive.I have friends that have become chambermaids for their AIRNB's & complain that its a lot of work & a couple of them have had to deal with serious damages.

and I built another spec late 80s there that I sold for just under 750 and that would be worth at least 4 today.. so you take all the folks my age and older who bought in those areas and lived there their whole life and you can see the massive transfer of wealth that is happening when they pass.

@Sammy Weinstein59 1/2 is the "early retirement" age you can begin withdrawing 401k money, penalty free.401k withdrawls are considered ordinary income and a taxable event in the year you withdraw the money, due by April 15 of the following year.

"Familial status" means having a child under age 18 in the household, whether living with a parent, a legal custodian, or their designee.I'm not sure if you have to abide by the FHA (it depends on several factors including the number of rentals you have).
