We have two young daughters (7, 2), and our goal is to gain financial freedom and independent wealth so we can travel regularly as a family and pursue a number of passions we've had on hold.

I feel that some people who boast about their appreciation right readily forget the losses they have incurred- and I also can't imagine a way that they could ever be properly quantified.One thing that I know is that to the extent that my buildings or business takes time away from my family, it pays for immediately, monthly... promptly allowing us the ability to travel, enjoy recreation and still have a large chunk to elevate our standard of living. 

@Skye Penland I should add that I am a traveling nurse with with a weird W2 setup... so that also made things crazy.

I can also tell you we hit a number we feel is crazy and equity and my wife said “ it doesn’t feel like we have that type of money“ She is completely right because equity does not put food on the table or buy a plane ticket to travel!

Hi all, I am currently a Travel Nurse in San Diego, CA.

As an alternative to short-term rentals, try looking into "traveling nurses" as prospective tenants.

Lastly, I would like to possibly attend any meetups that are in the area and could coordinate my travel week to line up with that date, any info on meetups in May would be fantastic. 

I had this mindset, but have found that traveling medical professionals need furnished rooms and are able to pay a higher premium because of their stipend.

In other words, like if I travel due to work or life, I have a place to live in both.I’m open to suggestions (and criticism).
