STR & Extended Stay Reservation

Hello All,

I'm looking for some advice.  I have a cabin in Minnesota and am renting it out on VRBO.  I received a reservation request for 6-8 weeks and am wondering if we book them if it will trigger a long term arrangement, classifying the renter as a Tenant.  Our current Governor's executive orders has suspended evictions and landlord-initiated lease terminations. I don't want to inadvertently book a reservation and not be able to remove the renter from our property.

Has anyone else experienced this situation?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

@Fiza Petro

We have had a few long term renters in our Philadelphia apartments. I would highly recommend having them sign a short term stay arrangement that expires before they establish tenancy right (in Pennsylvania it’s 28 days). Then have them sign another one when it expires so you don’t run into the tenancy laws.

It’s a clunky workaround but much better than the alternative of having to work through an overloaded and sympathetic court system.

I hope this helps!
