We've replaced the stove to a gorgeous new 5-burner, and already know some projects that MUST be done before we rent, but there are a few things I'd like advice from the pros on to know if we need to throw money at it or not - because unfortunately, there's only so much we'll be able to afford, so that will help us decide if we *can* rent our home out or if we need to be more practical and sell.My major area of concern is our walls - the majority of the interior is painted-over wallpaper, and we all know what an eyesore that can be.

Obviously you have to weigh up the pros and cons of short term rental; bigger revenue, but somewhat more intensive management and higher expenses etc, vs lower rent with more stability on the long term stuff.

To me, this level of planning, due diligence, and detailed analysis/unerwriting of all of these considerations is one of the major things that separate the newbies from the pros; the ability to execute such plans is the other.
