Is there specific language I could look for in the lease agreement that would let me know if that is the case?

Unless you have proof that they damaged it after you bought it, I don't know how you'd justify charging them.

I know for a couple of my STRs the management company uses the keypad system whereby they are able to set codes offsite for each renter and this is super helpful when working correctly.
