I will warn you that typically you only receive a 1% response rate with direct mail and you'll more than likely have to send a minimum of five letters to be taken seriously by sellers as they receive mail from hundreds of other investors/realtors. 2.

I plan to send a nice letter to each in the beginning and then follow up every month or so w a timely informative post card.

@Jeremy Meduna  My understanding of companies like this is they just apply for a bunch of credit cards for you, and charge a fee for doing so.  

My wife does not work and we have a good amount of "stupid" debt (credit cards/hospital bills/student loans) and very much in savings and fair credit.
