I then gut renovated my apartment this summer and the leak just came back (not long after another storm, though not sure exactly when as the apartment is currently empty.I had a plumber out who said it might be piping or the exterior and I had a general contractor out who said it was very likely the exterior and the whole building needed to be sealed.

I house hacked at 24 while getting my Masters Degree, had some options to sell at a great high point, didn't because of all of the memories that I had there for celebrations with my late mother, ect. and ended up having to hold onto the property for much longer during the downtimes ect.

For the cape vacation rentals, having a shorter season isn’t necessarily a bad thing because you’re going to do the vast majority of your rental income in the summer, anyways.
