It had a huge back yard and has potential for an ADU for extra income.

In Chicago a lot of people have chickens in their yards for eggs and slaughter for food.

Besides the usual (HAR.com, zillow, craigslist, greensheet, sign on yard), any other suggestions for placing an ad/increase exposure? 

If I can do a little Reno/repair, paint, carpet, a few new appliances, and yard clean up and double rents ( which I did in Aug with a 4 plex ), then I am making good cash flow and doing well.  

Center unit with vinyl siding. rear off street parking with a small back yard.

If there are local ordinances about overgrown yards or things like that you could report it over and over hoping they get cited and decide to sell.Some people would squat for a while and claim ownership.

and put in a small pool and have room for a yard?

I would also utilize FB, looking up the yard sale sites where you'll see people listing their properties (either for rent or sale).
