The 'backup' buyer (#2) still has interest and knows that we are waiting for the first buyer (#1) to sign the agreement.I can't imagine that I have to wait around for the #1 buyer to sign the agreement.  

Because I cant imagine budgeting a higher maintenance cost for my house compared to an older home that needs more work.

If you can imagine a timeline whereby PR decides to sell property for a variety of reasons, the early sellers will be picked off by many different buyers competitions for the low hanging fruit deals.

I described your post as "ringing with Bitterness" you first made reference to "poorer" I took no offense and pointed out I was poorer than you were imagining.

Can you imagine if we continued to rent the apartment we used to live in all that time?

We bought the place for 60k and poured about 20k per side into it.

The floors also seemed uneven at times, I thought I was imagining things so my wife walked with me and confirmed that the floors seem to slope in some rooms.
