You might want to start attending NHREIA (nhreia.com) in Manchester NH to begin to meet some local investors and make connections.

I intend to attend some REI meetups when I arrive and hopefully get some references to good accountants in the Oakland area.

I spent a lot of time there, and as I start, I want to concentrate in geographies that I know.Now that I'm actually starting to invest in real estate (instead of just thinking about it), I'm also excited to start attending the local REIA meetings (www.treia.com) again.
