This is the type of business most people "post checks on Facebook" about.  

Facebook, Craigslists and Postlets are the regulars I would use until you build up a list of consistent buyers.

I had thought of using the exact same thing only difference I was gonna use word of mouth also, instead of just Facebook I personally don't see this as illegal but maybe someone else will know something I don't.
