I am not able to purchase any other house without using those funds, so I am stuck staying in this Airbnb shared with a guy who coughs all night long and doesn’t have a car, always bothering me for rides and rolling papers, ect, eating my food, and yesterday he was yelling and waving a large kitchen knife around threatening his “friend of twelve years” and scaring the crap out of me.

Guys, I'm late on this thread because I had to deal with dozens of tenants threatening not to pay a dime on our rents...but, as @Mike Lambert mentioned, I don't think expecting a V-shaped recovery is realistic at all for the real estate market.

I’m sure the fixed cost of running an apartment in NYC is high, you have a moratorium on evictions, a governor threatening civil war in a state telling citizens not to pay rent, and talking for 2 hours a day on national tv about how to make pasta.

Yes, we were seeing 26% returns, but we always had to to chase tenants, turn-overs were expensive and some tenants actually threatened our people with bodily harm.

They will want to stay for a week and not pay anything and they will threaten you with bad reviews if you don't do as they say.
