Because the housing stock is so old in many parts of Pittsburgh mailing this list will get you TONS of calls from people with vacant lots (the house was already torn down) with exorbitant amounts of back taxes and liens - or you'll get calls from people who have houses that NEED to be torn down in addition to the parcel being laden with many encumbrances.

There is risk in buying to flip now, since inventory isn't exactly flying off the shelves (this is already a place where properties are usually on the market for a while before being sold even in normal times) and we might have to sit on a renovated apartment for a while, but we think the reward is well-worth the risk.
