No better way to learn than BP and joining local Real estate group.One more thing about NYC investing ,follow the train maps,close to public transport.I like to be under 10 min walk to subways,and if possible more than 1 train line.

Simple things can go along way including- Granite-Subway tile showers and backsplash-Fans in the bedroom-Hard flooring (no carpet or linoleum) -Exposed brick or other subtle things

We painted the entire thing, tore out the carpet, refinished the beautiful pine/oak floors underneath (These floors turned out GREAT, they are by far my favorite floors I've ever redone), painting the cabinets, adding new flooring in bathroom and kitchen, subway tile surround, new lighting, new garage roof and staging.All in all I am happy with the way it turned out.

It's close to Malden & Medford, even though there is no direct subway line or commuter rail to the city, I found a spot that has a bus line and it is only 20-25min drive to the city.

There is recent news stating that starting 2019 the L Train in New Yorks Subway will be undergoing maintenance for 18 months between the Bedford and 8th Ave stops.
