Out of State Investment Home Owners Insurance
6 August 2020 | 3 replies
Once the the insurance company I was working with realized I live out of state, and that they wouldn't be able to also carry my auto policy, the prices skyrocketed from ~$2,000/year to ~$9,000/year, which would put me upside down on the property I am looking to purchase.Does anyone know what is causing this, other ways to pursue out of state insurance, or insurance companies that would be interested in this type of risk without an auto loan?

I know you need reserves when you get into landlording so I am still patiently waiting to have that emergency money but what are some other ways outside of studying BP and reading certain books ("Landlording on Auto-Pilot" is my current read) that I can gain more knowledge?

We've always had a pool since moving to TX 17 years ago.I don't understand why people have so much trouble with chemicals, I check ours about once a week and normally don't have to do anything chemical wise except shock one a week and keep tablets in the auto-chlorinator.Sounds like your biggest issue is chemicals, find a neighbor with a pool, one that takes care of their own pool and see if he/she can show you how to keep up with the chemicals.
