Which career would better compliment the pursuit in becoming a real estate investor? 

I only invest part time- and rely on my career as a CPA/anti-money laundering consultant for my living expenses.

If you want to make a career out of real estate, then there are many avenues you can go down.But what I recommend is you take that capital and buy and hold a property.

I have an upcoming rental that I plan to lose my section 8 virginity to.

I've had several cases where I find homes on the upcoming auction lists (I'm in Texas) and find the home to be listed for sale with an agent.

I'm meeting with s lender and also a CPA in the upcoming weeks so hopefully they can further help me to decide how to finance.

I expect this would significantly delay or reduce my ability to invest in real estate for at least 5 years or so.I don't expect the cash flows (in the form of increased annual salary) from an MBA program to net positive for at least a decade - and I believe that is far too long a payback period for an investment that could have such a huge impact on my daily life and happiness.Reason 2 - The degree limits my thinking and narrows my career of choice.It was relatively easy for me as a young kid with just an undergraduate degree to make the decision to quit my cushy finance gig and come work here at BiggerPockets for @Joshua Dorkin .  

After working so long and hard to get to this point in my career, I steadily realized that I'll never make the kind of living that I want by working for other people.
