The lender at my bank also said he’s starting to see more money being invested in that area and I feel there is a lot of room for growth in that city.Chelsea is a rougher area but flanked by a budding East Boston and a new casino in Medford where people with a lot more money than me are investing in.

So adjust repair expenses to compensate for the higher price.Also, in an expensice market I like to focus on areas of good appreciation coupled with good rent growth.

I am not familiar with the zoning boards, but have heard they can be very political despite an investors best intentions for the property and neighborhood.Illegal duplexes exist all over the city, and I’ve heard that continuing to use it as such is less of a risk due to the lack of enforcement by the city.
