Let him do the work, then stuff him back in the basement.this is the only way to keep good contractors around.

Other option have a waterproofing foundation contractor go inspect with you. 

I’m a interNACHI certified inspector, and I’m currently employed with a basement repair company, and understand the risks and cost with those major repairs (currently doing sales).

I know a lot of contractors in my area and I’m sure I can get a flip done at a very manageable budget.
