@Dustin Robinette I would say that the actual brokerage you join is not as important as the team or people you surround yourself on.

You should be surrounding yourself with the best and most experienced people you can in this business.

My only suggestion would be to not be afraid to look in the surrounding areas (San Marcus, Kyle, Buda, Round Rock Plugerville, etc).

Not much has happened since the last boom in the 1960s, except slow decline.This started to change about 5 years ago: development happens mostly along the lakefront (looks like an ocean if you have never been to Milwaukee) and in the surrounding belt of wealthy counties. 

I wouldn't consider myself experienced (yet) but I'm buying properties in Little Rock and surrounding areas. 

I prefer trulia because it gives pretty good information on the surrounding area. especially in terms of crime.
