My wife and I (mostly her) bought a house that was built as a single family, but converted to duplex in the 90s and had been rented out ever since.  

However, me and my wife are on the fence about whether or not we should pull the trigger in pursuing this opportunity.

This is another one of those "it depends" Personally, we have sold our primary and rented in the past and I loved it but everybody has different goals and values.   

My wife and I are currently looking into investing in Detroit and have secured the pre-approval letter.

The thing is that I am a Marketing major student as of now, but my big realization began last year when I realize that marketing is definitely not my passion, and that I wanted to dedicate myself to something I really loved and liked doing for as long as I worked, I saw real estate as a great option for me and I’ve been trying to learn about the market and about the business itself.
