We focus on areas with decent schools, safe areas good local amenities.  

What makes you think that a country that doesn't even ban kids from going to elementary school who don't have flu shots would close down its entire borders to the rest of the world (because somebody can just as easily fly from Sierra Leone to Brussels to the US as they can fly directly SL to the states)?

Place to live, neighborhood, schools if you have kids, close to work, rate of expected appreciation, property potential for profit, tax benefits, best use of your money?????????

I go to school at the College at Brockport, which is about 20 minutes away from the Rochester, NY area, and I believe Rochester is a great place to invest.

You just need to understand the "risk".My husband is active duty so we tend to invest in areas that we are stationed (although we have never been stationed in Charleston, my husband just went to school there).

Example: Rooms, Bedrooms, parking, lot, community, School, History prices, history of owner.
