It was a question I asked when I was interviewing brokerages.  

But my favorite stories or interviews are always a guy that was a teacher, bricklayer, janitor that bought real estate and now has financial freedom. 

The commission should be a normal part of the "interview". 

Trust me when I say identifying a good property manager takes time and previous experience being a landlord, to know what to look out for when you are interviewing companies.

Interview the top dog at each brokerage and your all set. 

Found an investor who was willing to work with me after we had a walkthrough - i even set him up with several agents that live in the area and serve clients regularly he interviewed them and picked one he really liked !

My wife assists with property management, scouting new deals, interviewing agents/lenders, etc.
