I love the idea of having a cabin in the mountains, but the price tag is starting $650k for a 2-3 bedroom cabin.The other option is putting that $200k towards 2-4 doors in Huntsville, AL which has a lower entry point but I'm confident in it's growth in the future.Does anyone have experience with short term rentals near Gatlinburg, TN?

In theory you could go into their unit and take/damage their stuff, but legally you can't go into their unit whenever you like (you've sold the right of entry/possession in exchange for rent) and in most states you have to provide advance notice except for a bona fide emergency.

There's plenty of other ways to buy real estate so you can still invest, I just think that loan product has the lowest barrier to entry and is how myself and many other investors got started.
