I guess the way I see it is, I’d think online I’d be able to complete the course daily if I wanted as opposed to the given 3-4 times a week I have found. 

(My lease actually states the terms in which I can assume a place is abandoned, unpaid rent with no contact for 2 weeks with normal daily living items missing.

I am always stressing the importance of verification because I hear war stories daily whether it be questionable contractors, deals, borrowers or investors/partners and many could have been mitigated if more due diligence, setting forth clear expectations and/or reference checking had been done.
