The first team member I brought in was a transaction coordinator that is paid a split out of the closed transactions.

I understand for Colorado the taxes for the state and the LLC will be handled through each of the members' personal returns, but I have not been able to find clear guidance on whether or not a business filing is required for Ohio or if we are good with filing personal returns in Ohio as well.Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide some guidance.

I am analyzing whether it makes sense to purchase a duplex in Colorado.

Your other option would be to team up with someone locally to basically do much of the work the turnkey company is doing, sourcing deals, facilitating closing, coordinating fix up/permits/etc - then turning over to a property manager to find tenants, etc.Another option would be to place your money into syndication deals on larger apartments to have your money work more "passively" as well.Good luck, and keep us updated!!

Unless there's a municipal ordinance requiring landlords to do so, but I've never heard of that.

I fear Colorado isn't the best market for that so seeking feedback from the community to level up my business.

A couple weeks ago, I spent an hour on the phone with a lawyer trying to explain to him how he could use the FHA to get a CO for his client, who built a second house on his property without a permit. 

Think of the number of people here in Colorado without a formal education but anything but fracking knowledge it's the same story but just different characters.
