It's cheap in areas with lots of granite, like central Texas.

I'm relatively new to the Central Florida area (in rural Polk County).

That leaves me with $60K.Now i have couple of options, - Either buy 2 $100K SFR's or - Buy 1 $200K SFR or- Buy 1 $200K Apartment (high rise) in Central District Dallas.Please note that i would like to keep some reserve for the rental property and hence not considering the entire $60K as investable amount.I would really appreciate if you all can comment on my plan, what i need to look out for, any advice on which option to take and importantly if this will work out since i am a foreigner and hardly have any credit history in USA.

I'm also from the central jersey area and I've found that the taxes on single families pretty much kill any cashflow, but as you get into some two or three family homes the numbers are a little better.

I am wondering when these increases will make it here to Central Maine.
