Hello BP community,Im trying to find a contractor to turn a vacant unit in Memphis, but have no idea how to find a reputable one.Seems like going on Yelp and asking for bids is a general bad idea.If anyone has a strategy or a direct recommendation for a contractor I would highly appreciate it!

As a lender at a mortgage company, I would say find a mortgage company in your area with a good reputation.

Focus on building relationships and cementing yourself with a good reputation amongst your peers.

Looking for a reputable contractor in Joshua Tree!

This dance is especially challenging when the last day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, when city officials are not working.I have a very good reputation with the enforcement officers, and they do not hassle me as my units are always a step up from the others in my market.  

Your realtor’s trying to protect themselves (and to a lesser extent you) from getting a reputation for making “fake offers” with no intent/ability  to close.
